Life President for AAC

March 2023

We are delighted to announce that Yitzchok Katz has honoured AAC by accepting a new organisational role that recognises his singular contribution to Anglo Jewry: Life President.

45 years after he founded AAC, Yitzchok will be standing down as our Chairman and as a Trustee. However, we are grateful that he will remain active with us, deeply involved with various initiatives.

Yitzchok has been our driving force. He designed our strategy, developed our services, planned and built much of our software, and for twenty years ran our operations.

Yitzchok has ensured that we has always stood for professionalism, efficiency, integrity, and innovation. It is largely in his merit that we revolutionised so many aspects of charitable giving, enabling grants from its ‘profits’ of tens of millions of pounds over the years to UK educational institutions. In the last year alone, we facilitated donations surpassing £50 million, with grants from our ‘profits’ totalling almost £900,000 being made to UK educational institutions.

It is with great pleasure that we are able to announce that Akiva Hackenbroch and Eli Katz will become our joint Chairs of Trustees, which will provide us with a very smooth succession. Three years ago, Yitzchok recognised the need to plan for the future and recruited new trustees who would lead us forward well into the future. Both Eli and Akiva come with significant and successful senior level charity and business experience. These appointments will take place on 3 April this year.

We wish to take this opportunity to thank Yitzchok for his vision, relentless dedication, and inspirational leadership.
