Making Donations Simpler, Clearer and Easier to Manage

Members rely on AAC to keep their charitable giving organised, tax-efficient and handled properly. With over 200,000 transactions made in 2024/25, and online donations representing around 90% of total transaction value, the online donation experience matters.

That is why we have updated the Donation page. The new layout is clearer and more guided, making it easier for members to choose a charity, enter donation details and manage how their information is shared.

Designed around regular giving habits

Many AAC members support the same charities, mosdos, schools and communal causes again and again. You can now save your favourite charities, so they are easier to find when making future donations.

This means that if you regularly donate to the same charities, you do not need to search for and select them each time.

Levi Goldgrab, Product Manager at AAC, explains: “We looked carefully at how members actually use the donation page. Many give to the same charities regularly, and many want control over what details are shared with each donation. The updated page is designed around those real behaviours, so the process feels simpler and more natural.”

Clearer choices for each donation

The page is now divided into clear stages: choosing a charity, entering the donation amount, selecting the donation type, and confirming privacy preferences.

For each donation, you can choose whether the charity receives it anonymously, sees your name only, or sees your name and email address. This gives you more control. For some donations, you may want your details to be shared. For others, you may prefer to give anonymously.

Easier standing orders and overseas donations

The new page also makes standing orders easier to set up, with clearer fields for the number of payments, start date and payment interval. Additionally, for charities based in Israel, USA or Europe, members can now donate in Shekel, Dollar or Euro respectively, or continue to donate in pounds.

Improvement with purpose

This update is part of AAC’s wider responsibility to provide a service that is reliable, efficient and easy for members to use.

Matti Fruhman, CEO of AAC, says: “Members use AAC in very practical ways, often many times a year. Our job is to make that experience clear and reliable, while maintaining the compliance, cost control and trust that AAC is built on. This update is one of the ways we are continuing to improve the service for members.”

The better AAC works for members, the better we can serve the wider community. As a non-profit community service, AAC donates 100% of its annual surplus to educational establishments. Last year alone, this enabled us to give over £1.5 million to schools, Torah and chinuch in NW London.
